LOCATION, CLIMATE, CURATIVE FACTORS Kudowa Zdroj attracts through its mild climate and picturesque landscape. The town became popular as a health resort in the 14th century. It has a population of 10.900 and is located right at the Polish-Czech border in Kodzko County, Lower Silesian Voivodeship. Tourism and holidays play a big role in Kudowa Zdroj, but the place is also well-known as a health resort. Nature has provided a healthy climate, mineral springs and a beautiful flora. Thank to the surrounding mountains that protect against the wind Kudowa Zdroj has the mildest climate among the health resorts in the Sudetes. The surrounding forests attenuate variations in temperature to a high degree. There are also eight ecologicallly clean sources of mineral water in Kudowa. Visitors will be delighted by the many attractions this place has to offer (e.g. numerous hiking trails and parks). Some objects like for example the water drinking cure hall, a theater and some concert halls are located directly in the spa gardens or in immediate vicinity. A popular place for excursions is the Czech capital Prague (only about 100km).
